GUIDANCE SUPERVISOR

Miriam College Higher Education Unit seeks a Guidance Supervisor.

The Guidance Supervisor reports directly to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs.  The duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Organize the over-all guidance program
    • Approve the designed guidance program for the different year levels.
    • Utilize new trends and resources in guidance for the enrichment of the program.
    • Develop or procure suitable materials and resources.
    • Plan and implement the guidance or peer counseling programs for scholars, student parents, special, and foreign students.
    • Handle special referral cases and coordinate with administrators, supervisors, parents, and faculty, if necessary.
    • Manage and supervise the implications of guidance programs through periodic evaluation.
    • Provide in-service training for the Guidance Center staff or encourage them to attend workshops, seminars, and conferences for professional growth.
    • Evaluate the Guidance Center staff.
    • Recommend the Guidance Center staff to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs for permanency and/or assignment or position transfer.
  • Attend to the responsibilities pertaining to the office
    • Prepare and control the annual budget for the Guidance Center.
    • Review the Guidance Office procedures periodically and make revisions when necessary.
    • Sign all requisitions made for the Guidance Center.
    • Prepare the annual reports of the Guidance Center.
    • Represent the Guidance Center in the following committees:
      • Student Affairs Committee
      • Scholarship Committee
      • Council on Permanency for Guidance Counselors
    • Attend or assign a staff to represent Miriam College in linkages activities such as meetings, conventions or workshops of:
      • CEAP-NCR Guidance (Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines-National Capital Region)
      • CWC Guidance
      • PACERS (Philippine Association of Counselors, Educators, Research, and Supervision)
      • PGCA (Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association, Inc.)
      • PAP (Psychological Association of the Philippines)
      • CDAP (Career Development Association of the Philippines)
      • and other professional organizations for Guidance and Counseling


The candidate should be a licensed Guidance Counselor with Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling or related course. Candidate should have two (2) years supervisory work experience in Guidance and Counseling, proficient in oral and written communication, and proactive people skills.

  1. Secure copies of certificates of good moral character from the ff.:
    1. Baranggay
    2. Parish/Religious Affiliation
    3. Past and Present Employers
  2. Photocopy the 3 certificates
  3. Submit the photocopied certificates to Dr. Lucila Bance.

Registration Without Examination Guidance and Counseling (R.A No. 9258)

Filing Period: September 20, 2007 - January 26, 2009

*Qualifications shall have been obtained on or before March 2, 2004
